Toto's discography comprises 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also compilations. In addition to releasing original music, Toto has also done work with other artists and on soundtracks for films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.

Before the formation of Toto the group, members worked as sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs' 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 following the collaboration.
